Our Future Shoalhaven Inc
Our Future Shoalhaven (OFS) is an umbrella group facilitating and supporting local community-based groups. We have numerous projects under our umbrella from concerns with tourism and infrastructure development, the state of our waterways and the protection of our region’s fauna and flora. With many diverse issues being tackled by local groups, we believe that Shoalhaven needs a united voice for advocacy, planning and support. We're proud to be a part of the Nature Conservation Council of NSW, working together to make a positive impact.
Keep Jervis Bay Unspolit
The main goals of KJBU are to promote development that harmonizes with the unique character of our area. We are dedicated to respecting and safeguarding our stunning environment, including the rich biodiversity of our flora and fauna, as well as the crystal-clear waters of beautiful Jervis Bay.
Jervis Bay Marine Park Alliance
Our group is dedicated to protecting the ecological and conservation values of Jervis Bay Marine Park. Formerly known as the Jervis Bay Community Cruise Ship Coalition, we successfully lobbied against it becoming a cruise ship port. We continue to review the Marine Park Management Plan and address the potential issue of Mediterranean mussels in the Bay.
Safer Roads For Wildlife
Tourism is undeniably a powerhouse for the South Coast's economy, and one of its biggest attractions is our incredible wildlife. This campaign is led by the dedicated residents of Shoalhaven, who are committed to our wildlife and making their safety a top priority during the Princes Highway upgrade.
Bay & Basin Science Group
Citizen science involves public participation in scientific research, allowing anyone to contribute by making observations, collecting data, and enhancing scientific knowledge. Check out our project for key information, links, and tools related to citizen science.
Beach & Bird Protection
We are home to incredible endangered shorebirds: The charming Pied Oystercatchers, the delightful Little Terns, the unique Hooded Plovers. Thanks to the National Parks Wildlife Service and the fantastic support from BirdLife Australia, we have a Shorebird Protection Program that invites enthusiastic local volunteers to join us in helping to protect our beaches. We also run campaigns to keep our beaches pristine.
