Writing to elected officials is a powerful way to express expectations and concerns. It can be as simple as sending a postcard with your key points, send an email about a specific concern or wish, respond to a consultation or review...
It is an integral part of the democratic process.
PLEASE CHECK THIS PAGE REGULARLY AS WE KEEP UPDATING IT.
Points you can write about:
-
There is currently a review of NSW Marine Park management – the scientific studies around no-take zones indicates that these are very successful to increasing number, species and size of fish in non-take zones – please strengthen our marine parks and no-take zones.

There is currently a review of NSW Marine Park management – the scientific studies around marine parks and no-take zones indicates that these are very successful to increasing number, species and size of fish in non-take zones – please increase the area of marine parks in NSW.
-
We have had reports that the Jervis Bay dolphins left the bay over summer when there was consistent jet ski traffic – please ban jet skis from Jervis Bay.
-
Please improve our environmental monitoring of wetland destruction, and pollutants in our waterways – these will ultimately have a negative impact on the pristine waters of Jervis Bay through creeping destruction.
-
Please monitor and restrict size and number of vessels in Jervis Bay, and the impact that they’re having on marine flora and fauna – this is currently not being done.
-
Even though Moona Moona Creek is identified as hosting nationally important wetlands and is classified as TYPE 1 – Highly Sensitive Key Fish Habitat and CLASS 1 – Major Fish Habitat, development is being permitted to occur on its flood plains and alongside its estuaries and mangroves.
-
We are currently experiencing problems with storm water entering the Bay from surrounding villages - as more land gets built on, with more roads, more pollutants and litter flows into the bay.
-
Due to increased number of motor crafts and lack of resources to police their speed, erosion of Currambene Creek banks is occurring.
